Bryan Mbeumo: Manchester United turn attention to strikers as £71m deal ‘enters final stages’

Bryan Mbeumo has taken another step closer to completing his £71million transfer from Brentford to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been pursuing the player for quite some time as Ruben Amorim looks to overhaul his ailing front line.

That an agreement had been reached following weeks of negotiations.

United saw two offers rejected as Brentford refused to budge from their valuation – which they bumped up after Arsenal invested £52m in Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.

The agreed deal comprises of a £65m upfront fee, with £6m in performance-based add-ons, marking a record sale for the Bees.

And the move is now closer to completion than ever.

Mbeumo today completed his Man United เล่น UFABET ผ่านมือถือ สะดวกทุกที่ ทุกเวลา medical and ‘formalised’ the details of his new five-year contract.

The club expect papers to sign in time for the Cameroon international to join United on their preseason tour of the United States. They will fly out on Tuesday for friendly meetings with West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton, before capping pre-season by facing Fiorentina at Old Trafford in August.

Brentford stand to make a significant return on their initial investment for the player, whom they signed from Troyes for just £4m in 2019.

Once the deal is complete. United will turn their attention to signing a centre-forward.

Rasmus Hojlund struggled to impress last season, finding the back of the net just four times in 32 Premier League appearances, and Amorim is keen to upgrade from the Dane.

They prepare to go toe-to-toe with Arsenal in that pursuit. Earmarking both Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko as targets.
